Principal’s News

What’s happening in classrooms?

Students in our new Off the Grid Elective with Ms. Morrison finished building a cumulative project.  This elective uses some of the Green Careers Awareness Program from the San Mateo County Office of Education. Next year we will build on this and add more units, modules, and hopefully field trips.

7th graders are wrapping up a history and English projects, Past and Present. They research and compare a historical figure and a current figure that has made an impact.  This includes inventors, innovators, creators, and historical figures.  We look forward to hearing from students and have observed them collaborating with a partner on this project.

On June 6, world renowned composer, Brian Balmages visited TL and worked with students. Students put on a symphony concert.  Thank you to our PTA and Mr. Kneebone and Ms. Tetreault for making this magical night of music possible.  The theme for the evening was collaboration and what comes from collaborating with a team.  We look forward to making more beautiful music together next year.

Parent Donations Make a Difference for Students: Don’t Delay, Donate Today!

We are in the home stretch of our fundraising, and are asking ALL to stretch and donate TODAY. Even if you have given, we are asking all to contribute what you can. We have made progress toward our fundraising goal, but we still have over $700,000 left to raise to fulfill our commitment for the 2023-24 school year to the district AND your school site PTA. A gift of any amount is appreciated to help us achieve our $3.7 million goal. Our fiscal year ends June 30th. Please make a gift today to support San Carlos students next school year at https://scefkids.org/donate/.

Medi-Cal Renewals - Keep yourself and your family covered.

In March 2020, the federal government waived certain Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program requirements and conditions in response to COVID-19. The easing of these rules helped families with Medi-Cal keep their health coverage during the pandemic. However, Medi-Cal participants must now renew their eligibility in order to continue to receive health benefits through the program. Visit this website has important information - in multiple languages - for families concerning Medi-Cal renewals.
