Principal’s News

Over the past few weeks we are working with students, getting into classrooms to discuss behavior expectations, set boundaries and guidelines, and talk about the fun upcoming events and recognition for students.  On Wednesday and Thursday in History classes we will work with our sixth and seventh grade students covering PAWS-Practice Safety, Accept Responsibility, Work Ethically, and Show Respect. We are delighted that the rain has stopped and there is time to enjoy the sun and be out on the yard and field to play basketball, football, gaga ball and more.  We want to highlight students who are showing kindness and using appropriate language.  Our focus is on Connection to Peers: Belonging, Nurturing comfort, and safety among peers.

We are having our first of several Parent/Caregiver Roundtables on Friday, May 5 at 9:00 in the TL Learning Commons.  We want to connect with parents/caregivers and have conversations, answer questions, and share more about what is happening in middle school.  We plan to tour our campus as well. It is our plan to give more information about what it looks like to be a student at Tierra Linda.  We will share our data from our recent CHKS, California Healthy Kids Survey and talk about our strengths and challenges.  Please fill out this google form if you are attending or if you have a topic or question that you would like to discuss to help our planning and future agendas. Here is an article about using Roundtables and some shared goals a school community identified.

Book Fair April 25-28

The 2023 TLM Spring Book Fair with Literati starts this week week on Tuesday, April 25th and closes on Friday, April 28th. The book fair is a wonderful event that gets students excited about reading and allows our families to support the TLM Library.

This year, families can purchase student gift cards from Literati for book fair purchases. This is different from the eWallet system that we've used in the past through Scholastic. If your student has remaining funds in an eWallet account, they will not be transferable to Literati book sales. We will also be accepting cash and credit cards.

The book fair runs on parent volunteers. Please signup here to help. We need help before and after school, during lunch, and with set-up and clean-up.

We are excited to bring the book fair to the TL and hope to see you all there!

Don't Forget to Complete Your Annual Back-To-School InfoSnap Forms - Extended Deadline - Wed, April 26

Each spring, we ask all families to complete their annual Back-To-School Student Information forms through PowerSchool (InfoSnap) online. This allows families to confirm they will be attending SCSD schools next year, update/add emergency contact information, update health records (allergy or medical considerations), and give permissions, etc.

The week of March 27, you should have received an email from [email protected] with the Subject Line: San Carlos School District - Online Back-to-School Student Information Forms (2023-2024) Instructions that provided you with specific directions on how to complete the registration process online, including a link to access the InfoSnap portal, as well as a special ID number for your student, referred to as the “InfoSnap Code." We have extended the deadline to complete your forms to Wednesday, April 26.

If your child will not be attending school in the San Carlos School District for 2023-24 school year, we kindly request that you notify your child's school office or send an email to [email protected] ASAP. This will help us to keep track of our student enrollment for budgeting purposes and to allow district staff to plan more effectively for the school year.

PLEASE NOTE: Your registration process is not complete and your child will not be allowed to start school in the fall until you submit your Back-to-School Student Information Forms through PowerSchool Enrollment. If you do not have access to a computer, or need assistance, please contact the District Office at (650) 508-7333 or send an email to [email protected] to make arrangements to complete these forms. Thank you for completing this important process!
