TUPE Tobacco Use Prevention Education Team

On Monday, February 6 a team of 10 students grades 6-8 and Mr. Negro went to a training at the San Mateo County Office of Education.  It is important to engage students to learn and get involved in helping with preventing the use of tobacco and drug products and setting up a support team at TL.

We currently have a Brief Intervention option available for students seeking support for tobacco/vape use.  Additionally, all students will have a two week class in science that is based on the Stanford Tobacco Prevention Toolkit.  There is a focus on healthy alternatives to drug use: music, sports, reading, art, and other creative outlets.  Vaping and drug use amongst teens is on the rise because it is easily accessible and easy to use.  For more information, please refer to the resources in the above link.
