Glorious Galapagos update from Ms. Gulati:

The National Geographic- Lindblad expedition exceeded my expectations in every possible way. The Galapagos islands are stunning and the abundance of terrestrial and marine wildlife is astounding. It was so fun to watch iguanas laze in the sun, sea lions play on the beach, birds curiously come to inspect my toes, visit the nesting sites for several species of birds, walk with giant tortoises, snorkel with manta rays and so much more! Visiting this unique place has deepened my understanding & appreciation of the working of the natural world. Most importantly, this beautiful place has generated awe, more hope, and continued commitment to care for our environment.

I had an opportunity to share some of my experiences and pictures with the TL community. I will continue to embed and share my learnings with students and teachers. Here is the video created by NG videographers and photographers on the expedition. This 30 minute video captures the highlights. Catch a special appearance at about 24 mts into the video. :)

8th Grade High School Transition for Sequoia Union High School District.

The enrollment window opened on November 15 and includes address verification. You should have received an OLR, Official Letter of Registration, in an email and through the mail. This process is online. All students attend the high school which is in the boundary of where they live and not related to where they went to middle school. The deadline to request a transfer to a high school through Open Enrollment (transfer requests) ends on February 1, 2023. If you have not received information about registering your child for high school, please look at the following links:

Check out the 3rd video in the series and hear our community speak to the impact of SCEF.

Your Dollars at Work
Thanks to the generous donations from parents and community members, SCEF was able to supplement the budget of every San Carlos public school. You can see your dollars at work in the K-8 music programs, library services, social-emotional counseling, and elementary PE. Your donations also allow for smaller K-3 class sizes, technology devices, applications and tech associates and provide a principal fund to support the needs of each campus. NEW THIS YEAR, your donations to SCEF are funding the activities of your school PTA.

If you haven’t made your annual fund gift, please consider donating by 12/31/22. If you are planning on making a Donor Advised Fund or Stock gift, please initiate it now as it can take up to 2 weeks for these gifts to be received by our office. To learn about the many ways to give, visit our website at www.scefkids.org/ways-to-give
