Welcome

This week we have been full of joy!  Students returned and are learning our behavior expectations:
Practice Safety
Accept Responsibility
Work Ethically
Stay Safe

We all want to thank you. Your children are amazing.  I am hearing "please, thank you, and hello". Students  frequently engage in conversations, so I can learn their story and they can learn my story.  One student asked, "How was your summer?" and another apologized for bumping someone during Gaga Ball.  We are learning about students and building community.  We have students "scooping up peers" who are new or don't have a place to sit at lunch.  Some of our clubs have started this week as well.  We will have announcements every Thursday for students during period 3.

Back-To-School Night (See attached schedule)
On September 1 we have Back-to-School Night. Parents and caregivers get to follow their student(s)' schedule.  Your student will make a schedule for you during Advisory on Wednesday and bring it home.  BTSN starts at 6:00 p.m. with Zero period.  We will have announcements and a welcome from administrators during first period.  If you have a sixth graders, meet in the gym for second period so you can meet PE teachers and PE Opposite (Wheel) teachers.

San Carlos Education Foundation SCEF

Here’s to a GREAT school year ahead!

Welcome back! We are excited to announce a collaboration between the San Carlos Education Foundation and PTAs to streamline and simplify fundraising across the district. Beginning this school year, ALL fundraising will be consolidated with SCEF.

Our fundraising goal this year is $3.7 million and the suggested per student donation is $1,850, which includes funding for your PTA. Check out our new website for more information.

SCEF depends on the efforts of our volunteer board and other community members to raise the funds necessary to ensure a quality education for every student. Special thanks to Wendy Wood, a professional graphic designer whose boys attend San Carlos schools. Wendy has donated her design services for several years and we are grateful for her generous donation. Also, thanks to local parent Veronica Dils for providing website design at a deep discount so that we could refresh our website to support our new alliance with the PTA. If you would like to lend your professional expertise to help our local schools, please contact our Executive Director, Kathy Parmer-Lohan at kathy@scefkids.org
