Principal's News
We are so glad that our students are back on campus. Parents played a vital role in educating students last year during distance learning and we are grateful for your partnership. Not only did you supervise and guide learning at home, but many of you supported our PTA and made generous donations to SCEF. Parent engagement is key to a successful education, and I want to thank you for the many ways you make a difference at Tierra Linda.
Your donations to the San Carlos Education Foundation last year are being put to use at Tierra Linda in many ways. SCEF helps our school district purchase Chromebooks, learning applications and Tech Associates, supports our school counselor and social-emotional programs, provides funds for instruments for our fantastic Band and Orchestra Program, and necessarry materials and supplies for Art and Design Innovation. Because of SCEF’s successful Fund-the-Future campaign last year, our new STEMscopes curriculum is being put to work with hands-on learning supplies and materials, and professional development for teachers. Learn more about this exciting new curriculum here. This year I am using my SCEF principal fund to support our electives and outdoor learning environments and classrooms. We are also looking at purchasing amplification systems for our classrooms.
I encourage you to support SCEF this year as they kick-off their annual fund campaign this Wednesday, Nov 10, 2021 with SCEF DAY. Encourage your student to wear green on Wednesday to celebrate the wonderful community support that helps keep San Carlos schools strong. If you haven't already done so, I hope you will consider donating to SCEF. Support from parents like you is critical to help sustain and enhance the education we provide to our students.
