Principal's News

This past week we welcomed students back for an in-person Orientation which included circle activities (we engaged in play dough, Would You Rather? and Win Lose or Draw) and safe return policies and procedures.  Phase 4 plans are finalized and details about the schedules are included in this communication and will be shared on Monday, March 22.

Phase 4 will consist of some time in-person for content courses, sections 1-4.  Due to the structure of our schedule and transitioning between different teachers and classes in a day, students will have block period classes for longer time periods.  See the Reopening Timeline below.

Thank you from SCEF

A heartfelt thank you from the SCEF board, staff and volunteers for participating in our first annual Read-A-Thon! The support of our teachers, principals, students and families truly made it a fun, inclusive and successful community event, while raising critical funds for San Carlos public schools.

We read together and succeeded together! 1644 students registered for the Read-A-Thon and students logged over 419,000 minutes read!

We welcome your feedback for how we can make next year’s Read-A-Thon even more successful and beneficial to students. Please send your thoughts, ideas and suggestions to the SCEF events team at events@scefkids.org

Student and Community Covid Testing is Available

Please take advantage of the no cost surveillance COVID-19 testing provided by the San Mateo County Health Department. Please sign up for weekly testing for yourself and your child. Contact your health provider for a test if you have symptoms or know you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

Keeping COVID cases off of our campuses will keep our in person learning possible. As a reminder, if a student or or teacher tests positive for COVID, we will need to transition that cohort back to distance learning for at least two weeks to avoid spreading the virus. Sign up at one of the following locations to begin your regular weekly testing:
