Fever Free Invitation

You recently received an email from Dr. Harmeier explaining that the San Carlos School District will be using FeverFree as our symptom screener. This private HIPAA and FERPA compliant screener must be completed before any student comes onto campus.

When you receive the invite, please make sure to:

  1. Sign up using the invite link, using the email address you were invited from.
  2. Register with your name, not your child’s name.
  3. Please be sure you are downloading the correct app (see image below).

Once you complete the registration, you will automatically be linked to your child’s account. Please note we are slowly rolling this out across sites, so all of your children may not be visible on your app on the same day.

See the tutorial videos, FAQs and links here.

If you have questions regarding the sign-up process, please contact FeverFree support at [email protected]

We are sensitive to the fact that some families may have reservations about using the video features of FeverFree. At-home screening is in line with best practices and our county health requirements. FeverFree is HIPAA compliant, which means they abide by the same strict privacy laws that your doctor’s office does. The videos are 100% private and not viewable by anyone at SCSD. SCSD has invested in the FeverFree platform because verified health screening assures school staff and families alike that everyone is actively participating in health checks, making campus safer for everyone. Completing this screening at home eliminates the need for onsite health checks, ultimately increasing your child’s in-person instructional time.

More information on Fever Free’s privacy policy can be found in the FAQs here

Thank you for supporting our symptom screening process.

Attendance:

If your child will not be signing on to class for any reason, please notify the Tierra Linda Office by calling
650-508-7370 or emailing [email protected] with the reason for the absence
Please provide the following information:
1. Student name
2. Grade
3. The reason they are missing school or class today.

If you receive the robocall, check with your child to make sure they were signed in, answered the teacher, and had their camera on, failure to do these things can result in the student being marked absent. Our objective is to have the students in virtual class and learning. Please call/email the office if you believe you received the call in error.

The Fever Free App
If your child is coming on campus, you must complete the questions on the app before your child enters the campus.

If your student is on campus and you are keeping your child home sick due to even one symptom of physical illness, you must complete the FeverFree screener so our nurses can follow up with you. They will directly message you within the FeverFree app. If your child is home due to physical illness, your child is not cleared for return until they have spoken with a nurse.

Thank You Mariposa Families

A huge thank you to the Mariposa 4th & 5th-grade families who contributed to putting together a little goodie bag for the TLM staff. We look forward to resuming staff lunches when possible. In the meantime, we thank you for making this gesture possible, and to Lagille Rodriguez and Hazel Stabinsky for coordinating. Additional meals or goodies hosted by the 6th, 7th and 8th-grade families will be happening in spring.

All registration will be completed online and parents will be asked to upload their documents into the system. The deadline for priority registration is February 26.

Please Note: Students that are currently enrolled in TK-8 grade do not need to re-register. This process is only for NEW students entering the district in 2021-2022. Parents of currently enrolled students will receive instructions to update student information forms in PowerSchool (InfoSnap) at the end of April.

See our How To Register for the 2021-2022 (Next) School Year page for more information.

Please join the Community Foundation of San Carlos (CFSC) Black History Month celebrations and events throughout the month of February!

CFSC is launching an inaugural annual poster art contest that is open to everyone in the community.

The theme for this year is racial justice. For those interested, the intent is to design a poster that commemorates one's hopes and dreams for racial justice, a world in which all are respected, valued, and able to thrive. We would love for you to share the details of the art poster contest with your children. If they don't understand the racial justice theme, what a great opportunity to spark discussion. 🤗

To learn more about the poster art contest and on how you, your family and others in the San Carlos community can participate, please visit this website.

IMPORTANT Survey for City Safety Programs

City Hall is asking for residents' input through a SHAPE SAN CARLOS survey (that closes soon, Feb 12 at 5pm). City Hall wants to hear from as many residents (including youth).

- How can the City encourage community members to use more alternative transportation around town (walking, biking, shared transit, etc.)?
- Should the City consider making some streets one-way to improve traffic and enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety?
- Should the City add more buffered bike lanes, paint more red curbs, and add more pedestrian paddles on City streets at the expense of losing street parking?
- What other solutions do you think the City should consider to improve traffic, encourage alternative transportation, and increase safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers in the City of Good Living?

Your feedback is going DIRECTLY to city staff, and all comments, suggestions, and creative ideas are welcome. The survey closes soon, on Feb 12 at 5pm. Go to: www.cityofsancarlos.org/shapesancarlos. Your feedback matters!
