Principal's News

We welcome everyone back and wish you a Happy New Year.  Staff is looking forward to the 2021 year. We been planning engaging learning opportunities while reflecting back on 2020.  We continue to move forward with our plans for in-person learning, Phase 3.  This will happen on Mondays and students will come in a group either in the morning or an afternoon session.  We will resurvey parents about students attending in-person as plans may have changed since the Pandemic surge and our move to Purple Tier.  It is our plan to keep all scheduled classes, periods 1-7 online with the same routine.  The daily bell schedule will change slightly when we move to Phase 3 and students come on campus on Mondays.  For more information, please visit our TL home page of the website and look for the presentation from December 2 or click here.

The Tierra Linda Environmental Club (TLEC)  students have been learning about the impact of PPE on the environment during the pandemic. With the understanding that single-use plastic masks often end up in the ocean where they threaten marine life and take hundreds of years to decompose, TLEC ambassadors worked on a campaign to raise awareness about this issue. Through their  'Safe mask disposal campaign', TLEC encourages everyone to make better choices when it comes to choosing disposable vs. reusable masks. Additionally, since several incidents of birds getting entangled in the strings of littered mask have been noticed, TLEC encourages everyone to cut off the strings from the mask before disposal.

TLEC ambassadors presented at assemblies in all the SCSD elementary schools to raise awareness about their 'Safe mask disposal campaign' and advocated to keep our environment safe and clean.
