Principal's News

Associated School Body/Leadership has been established and met in the month of November.  Students are interested in planning school spirit activities, participating in a service project and focusing on a school improvement project.  Friday Nov. 22 is a spirit day: Sports Day/Jersey Day.  Students are encouraged to wear their favorite team's gear whether pro, college, or their own AY or club team.

WEB - Where Everybody Belongs, had another session where 8th grade leaders and sixth grade teams came together last Thursday.  There will be a planned meeting every month and students are focused on working together, playing games and having fun.  There will be a message or theme for each session throughout the year.  It is exciting to watch eighth graders serve as mentors and step up and teach our sixth graders.  The WEB Program offers opportunities for students to change the culture and climate at TL.  We have already seen benefits from this program.  In the spring, we will begin the process of looking for seventh graders who can lead next year.

Our lost and found is overflowing with items.  Please stop by and take a look for lost/missing items by Nov. 22 as we will donate remaining items to charity on Nov. 25.

Gift card donations for TL families in need.  We are collecting gift cards to Target, Safeway, and Trader Joe's.  If you would like to donate please bring gift cards to Cori in the school office by December 18.  We will distribute the gift cards to TL families before the winter break.

As we approach Thanksgiving Break, it's always important to reflect and be grateful.  I appreciate our hard working teachers and staff who are dedicated educators helping tweens and teens navigate the middle school years.  I also appreciate students who are thoughtful, opinionated and passionate about learning.  Thank you for partnering with the TL staff and I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
