Environmental Youth Leadership Summit


The EYLS is an opportunity for student leaders from sixth to twelfth grade across San Mateo County who are eager to make an environmental impact in their community to gather together, learn, and be empowered to create a sustainable future. The summit will consist of keynote speakers and workshops geared towards fostering environmental stewardship among youth. The summit will take place October 14th from 9AM to 2PM, and transportation and lunch will be provided. The deadline to register is October 7th. RethinkWaste Poster Contest


RethinkWaste is hosting a poster contest for students in third through eighth grade. The theme is Super Sorters. Students are encouraged to illustrate how they sort their waste into compost, recycle, and landfill bins. The contest will be separated between Elementary and Middle school, and contest winners will be selected from each category. The first place winners will have their designs displayed on local Recology trucks and receive their choice of a fun activity or a gift card. The second place winners will receive their choice of a fun activity or a gift card. The deadline for submissions is October 6th at 11:59PM.
